Trapizzino
Ponte Milvio
Bert’s take
The trapizzino is a Roman invention: a triangle of pizza bianca cut open like a pocket and filled with the stews Roman grandmothers cook for hours — chicken cacciatora, oxtail, meatballs in tomato sauce. It is the best cheap lunch in the city. This branch is up at Ponte Milvio, so I stop here after a walk across the bridge. Take two, eat them standing, and do not wear a white shirt.
